Turning Heads One Step at a Time
There was a time in my life when I didn’t mind being the focus of attention. I modeled new clothing lines for the local branch of a national clothing store in exchange for store credit. The work including in-store runway work and display window live-mannequin modeling. It was fun and helped me get some cute new clothes in exchange for a few hours of work. My aunt worked at a shoe store at the local outlet center so I always had shoes to match my new outfits.
I was young and confident in my appearance.
A lot has changed since those days. When I started gaining weight, I lost interest in shopping for new clothes. Ultimately I would walk out of the dressing room feeling dejected with the fit and my figure. To this day, I shop for clothes only when I have to.
My feet, on the other hand, still love to go shopping. Whether it is a new pair of running shoes or a cute pair of sandals, I’m perfectly happy. Boots, however, are my absolute weakness. Scott will see a pair on sale online and ask if I want them. “Yes! I mean, no!” “I love them but I don’t need them.” I talk myself out of them whenever I can.
But Sandgrens put me to the test; tempted my will power with a pair of Sandgrens Clog Boots. Guess what… I LOVE THEM! The pair, red New York High, arrived mid last week and Friday was the first time I was going anywhere that I could wear them. I rode with Scott to an appointment and while I sat in the waiting area, someone approached me and told me how killer my boots were. I gleamed and proudly said they are a new release from Sandgrens. Seriously… These boots hadn’t been in public for 10 minutes and they already had a compliment! I can’t remember the last time I had such an instant response to something I did, wore or owned.
We went to lunch and had some errands to run then headed home. On our way to the local board game meet-up that evening, we took the girls for a quick bite at McDonald’s. The young woman behind the counter spotted them as I was walking away. She told Scott how awesome my boots were! He called me back where she told me the wood caught her attention and that she loved the look.
Me too. I love how they look and that they can be both casual or dress!
Just like my sandals from Sandgrens, these are high quality. The boots are comfortable but run a little wider than I’m used to. I think it’s because they are designed for pants to be tucked in which is something I don’t usually do. The buckles on these deserve to be shown so I did decide to tuck my jeans into them for part of the day. If I planned to wear them with nylons instead of socks, I probably should have sized down.
I’ve worn these with black jeans and a black skirt because I like the contrast (and I like black) but they would also look nice with tan slacks or jeans. They’re versatile and really adorable!
Sandgren’s is extremely excited about their newest release:
We are happy to introduce the newest member of our boot family: the high heel boot! Same great fit and comfort as all our boots, but with added attitude. Is there something in your wardrobe that always turns heads?
I love red shoes. I had a pair once of read leather loafers that I wore everywhere. They were so comfy and just the right splash of color!
Those boots are so stylish. I love the color too and they look comfortable.
Oh my gosh I LOVE these boots! I have about 4 pairs of clogs in my closet and two pairs of boots and this is the perfect combo of both. Great look for the fall!
Not sure why, but I don’t have a pair of red shoes of any style. Boy do I remember clogs being the only thing I would wear. Glad to see them back in style!
These are so cute and I especially love the color!
I’m not much of a shoe person but I LOVE these shoes! The heel is pretty awesome. They are very unique looking too.
They are a solid looking shoe too. I don’t think you have to worry about breaking a heel.
Those are adorable! I love the color.
Those are some awesome boots. I love the colors too!
Those are rockin’! I love them. But I am not sure that I could walk/wear them without a sole that doesn’t give at all. Getting too old and my feet just can’t take it like they used to. But I have always loved the look of clogs and used to wear them all the time. So I’d give these a try in a heartbeat!
Those look like they’d be too warm for Texas, but I love the color!!
I love the color of the boots and they look comfortable. But I prefer my boots to come up to my knees.
I love the shade. They look comfy enough to wear many places too. How versatile!
Nice! I love the color on those!
Oh la la! I’ve been dreaming of that boots for so long! It’s so pretty and that color is so rich and fabulous too. I like Sandgrens a lot. I have 2 pairs already, the was free (Seoul Clogs) and the other was through their sale (Rio mid heels). I love them so much. They are comfortable and for someone who is flat-footed, I’m amazed how I can go around town wearing Sandgrens and not hurting my feet. Lovely clogs!
Those are cute and so versatile!
I might actually wear something like this but with jeans only. Not so much because of the boots, but more so because I only like jeans… lol These are pretty cute!
They look terrific on you! I love traditional open backed clogs and have a hard time finding styles I like in my size. I’ve been wanting to check out Sandrens for a while now.
WOW! Those boots really are CUTE!!!!!!! Wow…. I won’t won’t do it.. LOL
I actually just purchased a pair of dressy clogs to wear to work. They are really comfortable and I would totally wear a pair of boots like these since red is my favorite color.
Those are really cute boots! I think they are super cute. I need a pair
Beautiful boots! They are a perfect colour for the Fall season. As amazing the boots are they are just an extension of your beauty and great taste. May you allow the compliments to really sink in for your own awesomeness too. Have a lovely day!
This is what I don’t have – RED BOOTS. And they look so sleek – I absolutely love it!
they would look so cute with a short skirt!
Those are adorable. I have a pair of regular clogs from them
These boots are so very stylish! I love the pop of red color, and the high look is great for the fall.
Those are some way sexy boots! I just love them! I love the red and the way they really bring a spark of color to any outfit!
I love that color, but I was brought up short by the discount code expiring October 5 – was this a typo? I hope so.
Unfortunately it wasn’t a typo, it was a short-lived coupon. But…here’s another one that should work for 10% off – NEWYORK10
I love boots and I love the color of your boots. Great for our fall weather.
Those clugs are so cute…would love to have a pair….
Those are so cute!
i like the low heels 😀
These are very cute boots. I’m pretty much like you. I do have a weakness for red boots, and have stopped myself each time I saw some I liked b/c I didn’t want to draw attention to myself. These boots are nice b/c they are slightly muted in cole and the style is conservative enough that I say wow!
