Saige Countdown: 16 days!
Last year, when asked what she wanted for Christmas, my daughter was solid that McKenna, the 2012 Girl of the Year from American Girl was her one positive want. She consistently informed us that “You can only get her until the end of the year!”
Well, Grammy came through and she opened McKenna to squeals and total delight. In preparation for this holiday, American Girl sent us a Saige doll. Like McKenna, she’s the Doll of the Year. When she arrived, I managed to capture my daugther’s response. Doesn’t that make you smile?
Saige is a beautiful doll who, accordingly to my daughter, loves art. “She’s just like me, mom! She loves art, too!” Whether your holiday shopping is done or not, if Saige is the perfect doll for your child, don’t hesitate. Order her before time runs out. Here’s what my daughters have to say about that:
As many times as Miss K asked for an American Girl doll, I never really understood how serious she was until last year. My lack of knowledge about how the Girl of the Year gets retired could have had serious consequences. She truly wanted nothing but McKenna. American Girl dolls just make her SO happy!
Seriously… look at that smile!
As you heard in the video, you can still find other American Girl options without purchasing a doll. They offer books, DVDs, clothing, a magazine, accessories, crafts and other items in a variety of price points to fit your budget.
For more information on American Girls products, visit their website. You can also follow them on Twitter, check them out on Facebook or subscribe on YouTube, If you’re looking for an extra special holiday gift, plan an outing to one of the stores with your daughter. Hotels near their stores, such as Essex Inn in Chicago and The Orlando Hotel in Los Angeles, offer shopping packages to make the day extra special!
When I was a kid, all I wanted was an AG doll. My mom made me read every single one of the books, and when I’d finished, she got me a Bitty Baby. It’s been 20 years, and I still have and love that doll! 🙂 Now my little boys love her, too.
I’m probably the only mom who hasn’t seen an American Girl doll live. I do think they’re pretty though!
I think this would be the part where I say that I am so happy I have all boys 😉
I had an American Girl doll when I was younger (Molly) and she’s in a box in my basement somewhere these days.
I remember getting a lot of dolls growing up! I had the same expression as her when I open the package!
Oh man. That is just so awesome. I have been pouring over the AG catalogues we get in the mail. I can’t wait to get my daughter one someday.
I bought one of these for my neighbors daughter for Christmas, they are so cute and she was so excited when she opened it up.
