2019 Motion Picture Slate: Mark your calendars for movies to see in 2019 including features from Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros. Pictures. 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks, Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures. - SahmReviews.com

For the past few years, I’ve utilized the motion picture slate to craft an article for movies to see during the year. As new trailers would drop, I would go back and update the article with the latest release and update any other relevant information. But the reality is that people aren’t likely to go back to an article that is months old if there’s something more current available. So this year I’m going to try to post articles throughout the year with movies that will be releasing in the coming month or two.

With that said, let’s see what the beginning of the year has in store for us based on the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Slate, Paramount Pictures Film Slate, Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, Warner Bros. and more!

From the creative mind of Oscar nominee Steven Knight comes a daringly original, sexy, stylized thriller. Baker Dill (Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey) is a fishing boat captain leading tours off a tranquil, tropical enclave called Plymouth Island. His quiet life is shattered, however, when his ex-wife Karen (Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway) tracks him down with a desperate plea for help. She begs Dill to save her – and their young son – from her new, violent husband (Jason Clarke) by taking him out to sea on a fishing excursion, only to throw him to the sharks and leave him for dead. Karen’s appearance thrusts Dill back into a life he’d tried to forget, and as he struggles between right and wrong, his world is plunged into a new reality that may not be all that it seems.

We’re looking forward to hitting the theaters for most of these and are planning ahead for several months after that. We expect to be at the movies a lot in 2019. Stay tuned in case we’re able to score some exclusive interviews!

Which movies are you most excited to see?

12 thoughts on “January 2019 Movies to See

  1. There’s four on the list I’ve seen the trailer for and definitely want to see. The Upside is the one I’m excited to see.

  2. I love seeing movies, but only a few are really worth seeing on a big screen these days. For those few the $15 ticket might be worth it, but for most I wait for Netflix.

  3. I really like and appreciate this idea, a lot of the movies listed, I didn’t have a clue until now! Thank you very much!

  4. I am looking forward to Stan and Ollie, growing longer in the tooth, perhaps am waxing nostalgic, they were woven in the fabric of my childhood days 🙂
