10 Best Marvel-Themed Board Games
By now we’re sure you’ve seen Avengers: Infinity War at least once. No spoilers here, but if you were like us you left the theater in shock and disbelief. For us it only makes us more excited for the next movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to see how what happened will be handled and what futures lie for our favorite characters.
Marvel has been around for quite some time and it should come as no surprise that there are a number of board games themed in everything Marvel. So many that it can take forever to separate the good from the bad. Not to worry, we’ve done the hard work already and have come up with our top ten Marvel-themed board and card games (and at least one dice game)!
You won’t find classic games with slapped-on themes like Marvel Checkers or Marvel Chess in our list. What you will discover are deep, engaging games perfectly suited for all ages, even if you’re not a Marvel fan (but who isn’t?!). So here they are in no particular order – our choices for the Ten Best Marvel-Themed Games!
Codenames Marvel
The Marvel edition of Codenames combines the hit social word game with the Marvel universe including spider Man, Guardians of the galaxy, the Avengers and Doctor strange. Opposing teams, s.H.I.e.L.D. and Hydra, compete to be the first to identify all of their team’s ‘field agents’ from 25 code cards displayed in a 5×5 grid. A must-have for Marvel fans of all ages.
Thanos Rising
Thanos Rising – Avengers: Infinity War is a cooperative dice and card game for 2-4 players. In the game, players will recruit heroes and assemble a team to face off against Thanos and his villainous forces in an effort to thwart him from accomplishing his master plan – collecting all six Infinity Stones to power the Infinity Gauntlet and wreak havoc on the very fabric of reality.

Marvel Contest of Champions
Inspired by the critically acclaimed mobile game, Contest of Champions: Battlerealm is a game of combat, strategy and chance. Choose one of 13 fan-favorite Marvel champions, roll the dice and carefully allocate your ISO-8 to power up your champion and attack your opponents, travel to new locations or activate powerful special abilities. Make every game unique in this fast-paced combat game as you battle your champions across 40 different locations.

Legendary Marvel
In Legendary, players take on the roles of Marvel heroes, including the Avengers and X-Men, and team up to defeat an evil Mastermind. The players have to defeat the likes of Magneto, Loki, Dr. Doom, or Red Skull to win the game – if they do, the players are ranked by the most Victory Points accumulated during play. Because of this, Legendary has a cooperative feel.

Trivial Pursuit MCU
Test your knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 300 questions covering 6 categories from the first 10 films featuring: Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Marvel Avengers, Thor, and Captain America.

DiceMasters Avengers vs. X-Man
Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men is a collectible dice-building tabletop game designed by Quarriors! creators Michael Elliott and Eric M. Lang. In this game, each player fields one of the superhero teams, with each hero – Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and more – being represented by custom-tooled dice; each team must be composed of 15 dice, and a player can “purchase” dice only from his team. Each hero also has one or more character reference cards, which show the special abilities for the characters based on the die rolls.
VS System 2PCG: Marvel Legacy
Epic competitive game play to pit your team of allies against your opponents! each box comes with over 200 playable cards across eight different team factions. 8 new main characters and 32 new supporting characters to expand on the current 8 Marvel factions.
As you can see, Marvel-themed games run the gamut of type, complexity and pricing. Many of these games have other versions in the Marvel universe covering specific characters like Deadpool, Spider-man, X-Men and even the Fantastic Four. No matter your character preference, one or more of these titles belong in your game collection!

AHHH! My family needs all of these! We LOVE Marvel – the movies and the comics. These would be perfect for us.
My husband and boys are huge Marvel fans. They play Contest of Champions ALL the time but not the board game, the app. I have not heard of some of these, I will have to check them out – Father’s Day is right around the corner!
These are the perfect games for my brother in law who loves Marvel everything! I couldn’t save myself naming all these characters lol!!
