EwinRacing Gaming Desk Overview
Back in August we shared about the gaming chair from EwinRacing that Madison was taking to college with her to use instead of the stiff desk chair provided by university housing. When you spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, it’s best for your mental and physical health if you’re comfortable. Since dorms offer very little room, that same desk and chair are where you sit to study, game, eat or simply hang out. Madison has commented about how much she really likes it which resulted in a conversation about EwinRacing’s line of gaming desks.
With both of the girls talking about moving into apartments next year (where did the time go?!), we are now discussing things they’ll need for their new home. Home. Wow. I cannot believe I just referred to their college residence as home. I’ve been setting aside kitchen wares as I’ve upgraded mine or found something on sale. I’ve set aside towel sets and an assortment of other items. They’ll take the beds from their rooms here, but I never really gave much thought to other furniture they may need. While it’s going to be a place to live, it’s also going to be where they study… and game. EwinRacing’s gaming desk fit the bill perfectly for what Madison will be needing.
You may think that a desk is a desk is a desk, but there are certainly differences. My generation was all about storage space when we were younger, then the focus became having a space for a computer tower. Today’s generation is minimalistic with the bulk of their “school supplies” being digital. They need a desk that can accommodate their digital lives. The E-WIN 2.0 edition RGB gaming desk does exactly that by incorporating smart wireless charging and a USB port.
While these kinds of features seem trivial, they make a huge difference in your worksurface experience. Think about when there’s a wall-mounted TV. Sometimes you’ll see wires hanging down the wall or alongside the TV whereas other times they’re all hidden. Both serve the same purpose but one is obviously the better choice. It’s the same thing with a desk. Sure, you can have wires running everywhere, but if you can hide them or have something like a wireless charger replace the extra cabling, then it’s much more ideal. A grommet hole with cover also helps manage the cabling that you can’t get rid of.
Of course, you have to remember to stay hydrated when you’re hard at work (or play) at your desk. The hanging cup holder ensures you have a beverage within reach. Since it’s hanging below the level of the desk, there’s no fear of it getting knocked over and causing damage to the computer. On the opposite side is a separate hook to hang your headset.
The LED lighting running along the edges and down the support bar gives a more personalized feel to the desk. It may seem unnecessary, these types of small details enhance activities. I know this first hand because we purchased lighting strips like this for both of the girls to use around their desk in their dorm rooms.
Finally, I want to address the most important feature of this: the assembly process. We’ve purchased a lot of furniture in our day and you often sacrifice quality for ease of assembly. That wasn’t the case here. The high quality components were surprisingly easy to put together. My daughters are both in college and were able to assemble this entire desk in less than an hour without any help from me. That speaks volumes.

What features do you look for in a new desk?
The main thing I look for is utility. I want to make sure it’ll work for needs. If it can look cool too, that’s a bonus!
It must be sturdy and have plenty of ports
Love the cup holder. It looks very sturdy.
My favorite feature of the desk are the grommet holes it comes with! Hiding cables and cable management is key!
I’m really liking the aesthetic of this desk with the RGB and the cable passthroughs for a clean look!
