Help Us Fill Wish Lists for Children’s Hospitals Across the United States
Each year as part of our holiday promotion, we tap into our many connections across various industries and collect donations for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. It’s a massive undertaking for us, but it’s worth every ounce of effort since we know we’ll put smiles on some faces. If you aren’t familiar with the hospital, it’s the one famous for “The Wave”, where everyone at the football stadium waves at the patients at the end of the first quarter. It’s an amazing experience and another example of how small gestures truly make a difference.
We know that dealing with medical issues isn’t easy for the patient. At the same time, having a family member in the hospital is emotionally taxing on the family members. Through our engagement with Stead Family Children’s Hospital, we’ve learned that not only are patients regularly allowed to select gifts that have been donated, but siblings are as well. While we’ve only had experience with a couple children’s hospitals, we’ve been told that these are common practices across the country. In addition to the need for these types of patient gifts, various departments within the hospitals have their own wish lists.
This is a project we have undertaken for several years and it brings me joy each time we make the hour-long drive to make the deliveries. Friends have even offered their vehicles so we can pack more with each trip. Our readers have often asked asked how they can participate in these acts of generosity and we’ve finally come up with an answer. Many hospitals have wish lists posted on Amazon so we’ve compiled links to several of these so you’re able to take part in this along with us. Most that we’ve looked at allow you to make a purchase and Amazon will ship it directly to the hospital! So not only can you help a hospital in your area, but you could also opt fulfill wish list items to those in another part of the country!

Whether you purchase one small item or a bunch of things on their list, you should know you are making an impact!

We are huge supporters of Children’s Hospitals! From a person who has not given up the fight from having MM, I saw kids, in passing going through the hallways, what I and other adults do and they are my heroes! We always give to St. Jude!! Shriner’s, Lurie’s Hospital in Chicago, & The Ronald McDonald’s House!! God Bless the children ❤️❤️
